Muppet went to dressage today, and I think she is lame. If anyone has a few minutes, I would really appreciate any thoughts on the video - VIDEO HERE . No criticism of the rider please as it isn't me!

As history, she fractured her pedal bone around Christmas, I posted a video a couple of weeks ago wondering if she was lame and general thinking was that she was a bit off, but not consistently lame. I had her vet checked and she was 1/10 lame on a hard circle but sound elsewhere. Vet told me that maybe as much as I can expect, but I think that she is worse now. Especially considering the test was on a good surface. Interestingly, I didn't notice anything in the warm up on grass.

Any thoughts?

i don't think your horse looks quite 100% sound, if i were to hazard a guess i may say a problem with the right fore?????????? Did the judge give any comments , or make any observations about her gait?

I will bravely reply.

I thought she was unlevel rather than lame, and that it was intermittent, showing on some of the 20m circles.
She is a lovely looking horse, but in that test seemed a bit stuffy, and perhaps if she is normally forward going, laziness could be due to discomfort?
Having said that, horses often go unlevel if the rein contact is not steady, and your rider, although quiet, is sometimes a bit too kind with the hand.

Yes, it was Bluegates!

Thank you for the thoughts everyone, much appreciated.!

Her fractured pedal bone was left fore and that was what I was looking at - I'll have to go back and look at her backend now though!

Not horrendously lame, unlevel, and slightly lame on turns/circles

Did the judge comment as really they should stop you mid test if there is any question of unsoundness?

Yes she did - poor rider kicked herself for not noticing in the test, although after watching her go, I wonder if it was a discomfort thing.

The judges comment was something along the lines of unlevel in trot on left rein. Unfortunately I didn't really notice as I was videoing and always find it difficult to concentrate on anything other than if it is turned on!
