Vet came out today, and confirmed that the filly IS in foal

I have mixed feelings.... Im very excited, but also just a teensy bit cross that my vet didn't spot the foal on the scan back in September. I haven't fed her for a foal at all, and she has just 4 weeks to go.
 
Just out of interest how tall is the filly likely to get (and what foal are you expecting?)

Oooo... I had a feeling she was, like I said in previous post I know a TB mare who is tiny and due in 4 weeks.

When is she due then? And when is your other horse due?
 
We actually had the same thing happen to us with a little welsh we bought for the RS. Got fatter and fatter, despite her being fed virtually nothing and being used for 2hrs a day at the weekend. Vet came, said no, not pregnant. Pony continued to get fatter, vet came again. Said no, not pregnant. Pony eventually became wedge shaped and bagged up. Vet came and said "oh dear". Two days later a little colt was born!
 
This filly is called Easter (we call her Bunny for short)... and she is due to foal on Sunday 8th April, which just happens to be Easter Sunday

Would be very funny if she foaled on her due date!

Dream (the cremello) is due in 2 weeks. I got my vet to have a look at her too while he was there, he had a quick feel inside and 'shook hands' with the foal, he said he could feel the head and front feet inside both mares, which is good news as it's doubtful they would turn around at this late stage (we hope). He said that Dream was very ready and could possibly be on time, if not a bit early.
 
But did`nt you say that she was covered in June in your last post, if so she could`nt be due in 4 weeks. Anyhow hope it all goes well, wouldn’t panic about having not fed to well, you can supplement her from now on and after the foal is born. BTW i would be furious with your vet missing the pregnancy last September, especially since she was 6 months in foal then. Very bad mistake on his/her part.

Golly gosh Foals everywhere. Who exactly is the Dad, then? Sooooo exciting for us all.
 
No it wasn't the same vet, same practise, but I had the senior partner come this time!

Dad is Denwyn Thomas. I don't know anything about him though, I just have the name on the covering cert. He's a chestnut, so I'm not guaranteed a pally foal

I don't think mine will foal before yours - from reading your updates, Hannah is going to get on with it in the next day or two!

I have 2 foals also due to him

The dam prolific county level winner both inhand and undersaddle, she is in foal again this year (3rd foal) which is rather exciting as we are hoping for a roan!

Bunny is going to have a Palomino Filly - and I will be GREEN!!!

. I've been in a similar situation where vet scanned my mare and said definitely not in foal, but the following spring her waistline started expanding dramatically! She only received 'proper' feeding in the last four weeks and the foal was absolutely fine!
