my 2 year old wont be caught with her head collar... she'll be caught with taz's but shes only a pony size and hes x-full so not much use, she will be caught with a rope halter but hers no. not having any of it at one point catching generally was bad she wouldnt let me near her with a head collar for a week so couldnt take her out of the field

so is she scared or is she just taking the p*ss out of me?

How odd!

Have you tried running your hands all along the headcollar to make sure that theres nothing sticking out of it? Like a thorn or sharp peice or straw?

What about catching her with the rope halter then getting a leather one to leave on her in the field? hope you work it out soon probaly not much use but just thought i would try :o

when my mares having a stressy day she wont run away and will still come up to me but she will sort of spook away from the head coller that is fine normally. so if its a stressy day i put the head coller behind my back and slide a leadrope over her neck so she cant pull back and then i can put the head coller on without her backing of xx

already done this but if you take the head collar off again you are no better off as she hasnt got used to it being put on so goes back to the beginning again :o

andddd i have tried that she just gets very suspicious and even with the rope around her neck she will throw her head around and try to spin because she doesnt want the head collar on :o
