Is she worth a gamble?

Looks like a nicelittle horse. Speak to the owners, ask a couple of questions and let them talk away. If the stories match - go for it. If they dont, walk away. If the dealser has had her since Nov and is desperate to sell her, he might agree to a weeks money back trial. Nothing is really selling at the moment because of the weather, so it might not be a reflection on the horse.

Normal set of shoes when I saw her - I did have a look and tried zooming in as I have another picture of her jumping a fence with a filler and it's really hard to tell - another point to double check though! Her feet and heels did look good though.

Can anyone remember the surname of Lee who used to be at South West Equestrian in Bitton. He used to SJ a lot at the Hand. Is this one and same??? I can't to seem to find the full name of the "dealer" on their website.

She looks like a nice sort and you obviously like her.

I'd get her vetted and if she passes then give her a go.

I think I may have seen her advertised on trade it before. Her advert was a picture of her head and neck, with a derby house moo cow rug on. This was way back in the summer when I was looking and I did think she looked quite sweet. Advert was along the lines of daughter lost interest etc, sounded rather desperate but they wanted a good home (someone correct me if I'm completely wrong, but she looks quite familiar, in Bristol and on Tradeit...and I remember the name Peggy)!

She looks like with work she good be a good little horse, in the pic they do look like heart bar shoes though. There is obviously something you like about her. Keep us posted :)

Not read all the replies but the mare I part loan was bought for that amount - she is (according to you lovely HHOers 'cause we have no idea! :p) a Sect D x TB. She's 14.2hh and 17 y/o now - she was about 8 when bought.
She had been mistreated beforehand and was wild - no other way to put it! She was very aggressive, not trusting, severely naughty when ridden and the vet advised to have her put down. However, years on, she is the best horse ever - we love her to pieces and while she still has a character, she is so loving. I'd always say if you like the horse and can see the potential behind the "problems", go for it. Similiarly the next horse Kel's owners bought was an 8 y/o TBx who'd done no schooling and was very very green due to previous owner's lack of time - she now works beautifully and goes to shows everywhere :) ETA - they also turned up unannounced to see the reaction from the seller - always a good idea - seller said it wasn't a problem, tacked her up and let them ride!
She looks nice so if you can see the potential and you can afford to take the risk, you sound like you have a sensible idea about it and good advice on hand :)

TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS. Used to be on a yard that a dealer operated out of and couldn't believe the stories she came out with - she used to pick up some nice looking horses from the sales but who knows what their past was? Having said that bought our boy from a dealer who is also well known show jumper last year and cannot fault him - only horse we saw(and we saw alot!) that was exactly as described. Good Luck!
