is spring coming early ?

It has been looking pretty green in the fields this past week here.
That said, I’m currently looking at snow out the window and it’s still coming down.

My gut reaction to the question in the title is 'are you joking'?! ;-)
However if I look hard enough (past the knee deep mud and through the relentless rain) I will admit there are some daffodil shoots and snow drops appearing!

My mud swamp has bright green shoots popping up. I keep finding my Appy paddling in the nastiest bits because she's a pig! But minus temps imminent so that'll zap everything

Am with others that have noticed an uptick in grazing. Mine on mostly hay top up of hayledge and now will still snaffle the hayledge but started leaving hay in favour of grazing instead. Its a much nicer sight than them just stood by hay feeders looking wet and forlorn.

It's sunny. No rain is currently forecast. I will be sneaking out of work early to try for the first after-work hack of the year.

It being Friday the 13th (the first one, anyway), we shall see if this plan comes to anything.

Snow and sleet here…to add with the never ending rain and mud. No signs here!
