In the midst of all the frightening news surrounding Covid-19, panic buying, and empty supermarket shelves, I can't help but notice that spring finally seems to be around the corner! The birds are singing, we had the most beautiful blue skies this morning, and my little corner of Yorkshire looks set for a solid chunk of drier weather. Anyone else feel that the end of this horrible wet winter might finally be in sight?

Pictures to prove that those blue skies really happened! ;)

Please excuse the scissor marks! They might be unsightly, but the beard that preceded them was infinitely worse!

Sunny Dorset is Sunny today too!! It just makes you feel so much better.

Ponies coats have started coming out thick and fast so hope this is the starts of things to come. fingers and everything crossed.

A picture perfect day here in Sussex too, at last!!! Out with my shedding blade on the old boy, he was in raptures, bless. Took our puppy to the seaside for a walk, it had high summer crowds! " Just feel a sore throat coming on, boss. I need to self isolate for 2 weeks...or months!"

Yes, this morning it actually felt as if we could survive....it's raining again now 'tho, so back to gloomier thoughts.

Glorious here today all day.

Rubber curries in use on all the shedding, field-kept, swamp-beasts at my RDA while they went to sleep in the sun. Crows were out stealing clumps of fur from the ground.

Well we are in for a drought I am heading out to fertilise the fields so it will lie undissolved on the surface for weeks. Trying a bit earlier this year it is usually the end of April but it was still visible at the end of May last year

I'm hoping we will won't all be forced to be shut indoors when the weather does change for the better.
I hope the fields dry up soon, God help us with the amount of lush grazing there will be this Spring.

We got a fantastic blue sky about 2-3 weeks ago, a tad windy but bearable so I set off with the horse for a nice hack. Half way through it started raining, then hailing... we didn't get through one but three hailstorms before we made it back to the yard, I was completely soaked and now wary of blue skies until at least the month of May.

I didn't get any photos yesterday... when I had some time, the clouds had rolled in and it was starting to get dark, anyway.

But here are a few snaps from today, a little after noon, reduced to 15% size and saved at around 64% quality to get the file sizes down.

Leaf buds on the service tree.
