I am struggling to see a grass growth spurt - in the field anyway. My garden grass has grown, but part of the field which hasn't been grazed in a month doesn't show much sign of new growth. I am a bit disapointed as Juno is desperate for Dr Green. I wanted to put them in it this week for a feast, but alas it is not much. Poor old girl, as she is losing her winter woolies, she is looking a bit poor. I have had to up her feed and continue to feed hay and haylage. I have just ordered in a round bale of hay - the last one, and I had been hoping it wouldn't be needed.
Luckily we are not upto our knee caps in mud, but Dr Green would be nice!
How about you where you are??

Its on its way as they are all heads down and scoffing but now amazing lush green fields my end yet ! though I am sure the sunshine today will have helped

Girl next door seems to have quite a bit more green than we do but bigger field + less horses grazing - I think my lot are just eating it as quick as it grows

Yup! Our paddock that had been grazed down to nothing have now got a couple of cms! :)

It's on it's way! Not that my mare will be seeing ANY of it. But means they'll be out 24/7 soon! :)

yup it is here i even found that over the winter my 2 paddocks that i rotated him between grew a little when rested. he is in a field of lots grass now and i have stopped feeding him hay. :D

Grrr, making me jealous you lot!!
The field is in good nick, I have 3 on it 24/7 365 so can't really complain, just feel sorry for the old girl. Penny is looking good, Meg is ok but the winter has been hard on the oap. If winters are going to be like this, then maybe it was her last. :(

Yes deffo on the way. They go off grazing now rather than just waiting for their haylage to arrive.

Well the horses have their heads down more these days so there must be something but to be honest, it is very hard to see! Other than the field looking slightly less brown I can't see much growth yet :(

We've got too much grass in the ungrazed paddocks so going to need to be really strict with the Paddock Paradise tracks. Their winter paddock is really quite bare now though so they do need to move into the other grazing really soon.

We are a lot greener here than we were this time last year, but growth has slowed down in the last few weeks as no rain.

Sods law it will be torrential for the next 3 weeks now and any grass coming through will get mushed into the mud!!!

:D Um, not!

We have only just got rid of the last of our snow after 4 months of the stuff.

Reading the forecast today I see we are due 15-20cm of snow again in the next 24 hours, c'est la vie! Not quite time to take the plow off the quad yet then.

I am still going through 7 round bales a week.

Also in the midlands and its growing here, the only evidence I have tho is green poo's as they are eating it as fast as it comes thro ;)

things are looking greener here in northern Italy :) Grass begins to grow when the temp of the earth reaches 8 degrees. Spring has definately arrived here, my favourite season!

fii.. i was going to say .. she's in dorset.. same as you and me! :D .. but we have no grass and its growing really really really slowlllyyyyyy....., must be a dorset thing ;)

 Forecast was kind of right, 4" and still falling, Hello Spring:D
All schools cancelled for the day too.

I posted yesterday - but today things seem to have changed and the paddocks look greener + the poos have changed ! ! out full time now as of last night :-)

My boys are on the same paddock 24/7 365, its looks green if very short, they must be eating it as it grows - and last night was the first time this year ive had to go and catch them - obviously the grass was far more interesting :)

Soon we will all be moaning our ponies are too fat and need to come in or be muzzled etc ;)
