Can't belive im asking this but our grass seems to be growing?? Not only is the field looking longer/greener but the horses are happy to trundle off and graze rather than hanging at the gate hopfully.

Am i imagining it? Cant for the life of me remember what temp/ conditions are needed to grow grass!!

I think it grows if the overnight temps are 4 or 5 for a few nights. It's been as mild as 9degrees this week overnight, so yes the grass is definitely growing. My horses weren't even bothered about their feeds this morning.

There was me looking at what I thought was new grass in a wooded area yesterday , walked away thinking must cut down on left over sweets and alcohol  but maybe not ....

Our grass has not stopped growing apart from maybe a week, it's so green. My mare has had her muzzle on all year, she does come in at night, I'm not that cruel

hmmm, now i like this because hay is bloody expensive but ours are all good doers and i was counting on them being on the slim side before the grass started!! Ah well guess the electric fencing will be coming back out next weekend

Ours is growing rapidly, and the it just shows you how mild it has been - the seeds that have fallen from the bird feeders have sprouted shoots!!!

Yes mine is growing which is not really needed yet but will be glad for those with bare fields!

Think I am going to have a real battle this summer trying to keep my haffy at a sensible weight :-/

Hmmm I'd like it to dry up but no frost to check the grass please you can have that!:p

Well I was hoping that the fat lot would actually loose some weight on their haylage and staw diet, but not a chance with the grass growing. Also need the frost to crack the ground a bit to help the drainage, otherwise I may be wading through mud forever

Definately is in my back garden where I put some seed down rather late last year. In the last few days I now have green as opposed to mud :D

I don't think it's really stopped growing all winter here tbh and now it seems to be racking away, even the Hawthorne hedges are budding! Every horse on the yard is munching.

Funny someone at our yard had what they thought was grass glands up today! Either that or they've been at something that's caused them a bit of reaction out of the hedge. Beyond that one or two people have said horses aren't finishing their nets the last few nights..we've had temps of 10-12 degrees and while most of field is a bog the flat bit at the top might well be having a small growth spurt?

Definitely growing here. Lammi horse was a bit footy this morning so no more turnut for him until cold weather is back. Grass will grow at any temp from 6C upwards.
