My 4yro Vinnie is currently 17.2hh and in 7'3ft rugs and I fully expect him to grow a bit more so presuming he will end around 18hh; should have taken him out of his grow bag a bit earlier ;)

We currently have a Ifor 510 which is really too small for him heightwise and lengthwise- he gets in with help from a shoe horn but it doesn't seem very comfy for him and I don't want to put him off travelling.

Obviously we have taken out the partition but even diagonally he struggles :(

I have looked into a 3.5t horsebox but they seem to have smaller internal dimensions that our 510 so unless anyone knows if you can get taller ones they have to be discounted.

Soooo.... are there any trailers out there with bigger internal dimensions that the Ifor 510?
Ideally 4+ inches taller and 5+ inches longer from breast bar to breach bar?

Thanks for help- I can't offer anything other than painkillers as struggling today with my broken collarbone which has decided to move and looks like one of the broken ends wants to come through my skin :( :( :(
Back to hospital tomorrow but until then I am trying to take my mind off the pain with trailer shopping!!

I looked into this quite a bit when we bought Maggie (17.2hh and 7ft rugs). Apart from Equitrek, which is considerably heavier, these are the biggest trailers internal measurements:

IW 511
Length 3520mm width 1790mm Height 2260mm Weight 1000kg

Cheval Liberte 2003 XL
Length 3130mm width 1672mm Height 2260mm Weight 850kg

Bateson Ascot
Length 3040mm width 1650mm Height 2220mm Weight 925kg

I bought the Cheval Liberte as it was the lightest, and am really happy with it - and Maggie loves it too, although I guess any trailer will be a bit squished for such a large horse.

Ouch ouch ouch!! poor you mega sympathies.

Sorry cant be any help with a trailer, OH's V (Vertigo) was purchased at 17.1, and is now too big to measure, took us 6 mths to find a 7.5 T lorry with the right dimensions for him, so good luck with the hunt!

Will take a share of your painkillers please, my back is in tatters today, I hate getting old:(

My 5yo is 17.2 and growing too!! The only compact lorry I have found that will take his size and weight!! Is the Theault Max'eo

They're about £26k new!! I am saving hard, I have 57p so far!!

thanks all :)

alwaysbroke, you are so right- the dimensions seem hard to find regardless of whether trailer, 3.5t, 7.5t or even HGV!! think i am going to tie a breeze block to his withers to discourage any more growth!

he was a big foal, but i never thought he'd get this big.

Doctor has given me 100 x co-codamol in the strongest available strength and some other pills i can't pronounce so have plenty to go round- i just can't get off the sofa to get them as movement is hurting way too much (although on the plus side my one handed typing is improving!)

Bockman do a trailer - BigMaster which is (internal) 2300high, 3600 long and 1750 wide. Weighs about 1000kg.

I've got a Master (smaller version) for my 16hh warmblood.

Might be worth checking the dimensions of the largest Fautras trailers. Think there is an xl Westfalia as well.
