Is there any better feeling than galloping a horse?!

I love it!! thats why i always have tbs ;)

I used to be based near the river mersy, and one night i was galloping my welsh mare, bareback, along the river banks with the full moon in the sky, there was no better feeling, just me and my horse, the soothing sound of the river and galloping by the moon light. Its one of them moments that will be with me forever.

Dont think id try my TB bareback though, ow ow ow ow ow:)

Still got to rustle up the courage to do it in the open with my guy (stop sniggering you filthy minded lot at the back... ) To be honest I can't wait. Posts like this make me wanna knuckle down, stop being a wuss and get the heck on with it...

Oh the most incredible feeling!!! :D :D :D:D :D

First time I galloped with the Dizz. I can't describe it other than the most amazing smooth flow of speed and movement. This beautiful horse was happy to take me and run, guided by me and stopping gently when I asked.

That alone is worth all the rest :D

SD - when the time is right for you, it will be worth it :D (and see, not a snigger in sight :D)

RFF - that must be amazing :D. I've ridden horses straight off the track, a bunch of us across fields and tracks (now that was fun lol), but to do it up the dedicated gallops.... I've watched it from the ground (friend is a trainer) - incredible :D

Yep i sniggered, it is sooo worth it, expect to hear all about it when you do!:)

Ahh, the best feeling ever without a single doubt! Whoever said about having fences along the way is totally right! Nothing beats a good, flat out gallop! :D I'm lucky to have massive fields around me that are screaming to be galloped across once they are cut and stubble. I've gotta say, I'm only too happy to oblige :).

Is there any better feeling than galloping a horse? Well I have a true bolter so on him yes, there is: The feeling of being able to stop galloping!:D

Iv been waiting for it to rain so I can go for a good gallop! And it has! Yay yay yay yay yay! :D:D:D!!!!!!

I love to race my friends, I have a feeling that I will be winning quite a lot now as I have my ex-racer! ;)

nothing more exciting than taking racers on the gallops!!!

Ditto this, on my 18th birthday I worked in newmarket and the trainer let me loose on the "proper" work gallop on my favourite horse. I thought I was just hacking her there for the yard jockey to get on and work her but they suprised me! The yard jockey stayed upside me the whole time and said that my grin was the biggest he'd ever seen!!

I had only done the fast canters on the heath before-which were still pretty good!

I cried at the end, I was so happy. :)

Ooh yes. And don't tell Shills, but when your little cob beats the anglo arab stallion for the first time... priceless :D

What do you mean the stallion let him win?!

I do love the different gallops you get out of different breeds. I think my favourite has got to be the ones where you go:

Whooooooosssshhh (halt to gallop) Wow, I did NOT know you could go that fast! (particularly effective when its your first gallop on that horse AND its up a 40 degree hill!)

Zoooooooommmmm (Horse finds even more speed) Is it possible for a cob to have an extra gear? is this a one off horse who I should genetically clone??

NNeeeeeeweooooooooOWWWW! aaaaaarrrrrrghhhghgh (Cob has engaged full power that you thought you knew about, but realise that until this moment you had no idea) hold on tiiiight!

and that penultimate moment, ohsheethowdoistopthisthingthebreakshavefailed!!!

:D

Mine's deceptive. I was having a little canter with a friend, I was in front and was worried that I was going too slow. When we stopped I was asked if we could go a bit slower in future, I forget that he covers the ground even if the legs aren't going fast.

And when you do let him go ...
