Like a saddler fitter is there such a person as a biting specialist I can call out? It isn't easy finding and fitting (more importantly) the right bit. I know myler have a bit bank but again it's down to you to work out what's right. I'd love someone to be able to come along and give some good expert advice on the bit and how it should fit. If anyone knows someone that does this please let me know, I've trawled all the mags and can't seem to find such a person. Many thanks Cate xxx

Yes, if you look on the Neue Schule website you will see they have a bitting helpline number which puts you through to Heather directly. (from the website: HEATHER'S EXPERT BITTING ADVICE LINE: For personally tailored bitting solutions call Heather on 01642 710627 Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 9am to 5.30pm.)

I am a complete convert to this after the help she provided me with over the phone, and the fact there was no pressure to buy a neue schule bit from ehr (in fact I got something from my local shop)..

IIRC she used to run a huge bit bank, so is a wealth of information, now she specialises in her own bits.

Hi thank you both, just been advised about Hilary by PM and will look at this one too. This is fab thank you so much! IMO getting the bit right is just as important as everything else we get checked regularly but I've never managed to find someone. Very happy I posted this. xx
