My TB was diagnosed with may crap things in his front feet -ddft damage, imar damage, colleteral ligament damage, some signs of bone remodelling on the navicular and pedal bone. He hasn't worked since February as the advice has been to rest and thankfully he has been quiet in the field so his turnout has continued. It looks like he will be going to Rockley in sept :D and nic has been awesome but is there anything else I should be doing. I have changed is diet to ers pellets, unmollassed grass chaff and linseed - any thing else I could be doing here ?

He is currently being shod in graduated pads in front with normal shoes and normal shoes behind (although this time they have 3 clips but farrier is on hoiday so haven't been able to ask why ) I have been treating the hinds with the red horse paste as his central cleft is quite deep and a little smelly but I cant get anything under the front pads.

Sorry if some of these are silly questions but a bitofa barefoot newbie

Have you thought about supplementing minerals, especially zinc, copper and magnesium? Much of UK pasture is deficient in these and they can make a real difference to hooves.
Progressive earth on ebay does an excellent supplement called pro hoof, (not to be confused with Naf Pro Feet, which I have tried and don't rate!), which has good levels of all things necessary for strong hooves. Very good luck, hope he comes right for you.
