I got to the yard this morning at 7 and found the electric fence like this

And my two in with the other two Shetlands!

He had also managed to remove his rug

And completely destroy an electric fence handle

They all seemed completely fine but as soon as I started to move the electric fence decided they would start galloping around and just being stupid generally!

They must of worn themselves out tho as I have just been to check on them and they are all stood along the outside barn wall having a nap .

Little monsters!!!

I regularly find my electric fencing in tatters and a guilty looking Mare somewhere where she shouldnt be on a weekday! Thank goodness for flexitime and a very nice boss!

Very lucky I suppose as my boss would not accept me being in late. But it happens everytime I put aside a couple of hours to go up and do something with my boy.

You must be very patient to keep putting up with it on a regular basis!!

Patience is rapidly running out with this mare! She is turned away because she broke herself having a mad 5 mins round the field and now spends her day thinking up new ways to annoy me and her fieldmate!

OMG !!! I'm afraid Shy has to be contained within post and rail with leccy fencing along the top rail - sorry not a lot of help to you I know. Another livery has just proved himself a demolisher/jumper and is now being kept in after doing the back loop and being seen trotting up the drive towards his stable.

Thanks shysmum, I have decided that it is so important for me to find a yard with decent fencing now. Hopefully going to look at a yard tomorrow as I just keep worrying about him. The proper fencing we have is so wobbly I thought he was going to pull it down when he scratched his nose on it the other day!

My friends mare managed to rip her brand new rug on the barbed wire fence last night too it's just rubbish!

Never a dull moment at mine either. Was meant to take a youngster to be loose schooled in front of a prospective purchaser. She panicked in the trailer, and pushed herself out backwards under the back bar, and then did the splits. Cut her leg, and took her fur off her back.
Think she wants to stay

She leans against a posts until it falls down enough for her to step over it. But she usually forgets about her back legs and drags the tape away!
She learnt the trick whilt rugged and has refined it to work without rugs!

I was just mortified that Shy put his head down and galloped through about four lots of leccy fencing in a youngster hoon about three times and guess who had to pay for it

Sounds like she does want to stay even if it means spoiling your Saturday! Hope she is ok tho.

Yeah he is worse with a rug on, in the other field he attached him myself to the barbed wire and ripped his rug so had to stay naked. Now he will have to stay naked in this field too as he obviously doesn't feel the electric fencing otherwise. Good job he is unclipped!
