What is it with all the HHO AAD dogs today?! We're in need of some vibes in this corner too...

Spangle has had volcanic amounts of vomiting and diarrhoea this evening so she's at the vets too - on a drip as it all happened so quickly :( She's so dehydrated, we feel dreadful, but it's only been since 5pm this afternoon. Lovely lovely vet is staying with her tonight (won't let me or OH camp out at the surgery) so fingers crossed she gets over it as quickly as it came on!

Any spare vibes you can send our way would be much appreciated xx

(I'm also sending out vibes to all the other vibeees - good luck everyone! Dogs, who'd have 'em? xx)

Oh no! Many many vibes on the way to Madam Spangle:(

Thank you all so much - we're really touched. I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to cross things for a bit longer if possible... :(

Spangle is still a very poorly thing - Good news is Lovely Lovely Vet has managed to stop the vomiting and the back end from flowing.

Bad news is she's still on a drip as she's so dehydrated it's scary...she literally looks half the dog she was 24hrs ago. :( We got a feeble tail wag when we went in this morning (was close to banging the door down :o) but she's not a happy pooch. :( But tail wag = :) She's a toughie.

She's being kept in isolation in case it's something contagious but LLV and LLNurses have not left her side... she's even had a sponge bath :o So I'm going to plague you all for some of those famous vibes for a bit longer. We're seeing her this evening so will update you when we're back xx

Just a small update to let you know our lovely girl was PTS this evening :(

She was so unwell and was obviously in pain when we saw her tonight (despite major painkillers) so we thought it the best thing to do for her. Vet thought her kidneys were in the process of shutting down too and it just didn't seem fair to keep her hanging on another night in the vain hope she might improve. :(

We're just in shock at how quickly this has all happened and devastated her life had to end like this. I had always thought (naively, I suppose) that "when her time came" she'd be at least 10 years older (instead of her paltry 6 years) and we'd be able to make that decision before she suffered in any way. Best laid plans and all that :( :(

Thank you once again for all your thoughts and please give all your beasties a big hug tonight for us.

RIP Jilly-Tilly, Madam Spangle - we tried our best for you xx

Thanks guys. There has been a very nasty V&D thing going about (hence the isolation) but Vet has said he's convinced there must have been something underlying that was building up and the two coincided. Blood was seen at both ends so he thinks some sort of rupture (I'm a bit hazy to be honest) :( Huge part of me thinks we must have been overlooking something in the last few weeks. :( Going back in tomorrow to talk to him properly

Oh please don't think that NN, our last girl was a very young ten, not a grey hair on her and she went downhill almost overnight, a few days earlier she was still going for very long walks and she was as fat and shiny as anything. It came from nowhere and we had no idea.
You did your very, very best for her x

They're only little compared to us and they can go downhill so quickly, especially from D&V :( It's not your fault NN :( Just one of those awful things.

Thank you guys (again)

Just spoken to the vet (couldn't face going into the surgery :( ) He performed a mini-PM last night on J last night and she had a pancreatic tumour which probably contributed to her illness. Her bowels were not in good shape either and he concluded we'd done the right thing as there was little chance of recovery. He also said she hadn't shown classical signs of a pancreatic tumour and he couldn't even feel one when he examined her on arrival.

Feeling much calmer now, OH has been an absolute rock even though he's been beating himself up about it all too. Vet has been a star too, he let slip it was his day off yesterday and I don't think he's really slept at all in the last 48 hours. Lastly, a final thank you for all your thoughts, hugs and vibes - you have no idea how much they've helped :) xx
