Going off a comment on my post in PG, do her back legs seem odd or not right to anyone?

I know she's overweight! She's been out of work for months, i'm working on it!

thanks, I can't do anything myself as she's not mine, but i can say to YO.
I haven't noticed any difference myself.
Those photos were taken the 2nd time she was ridden in months, i don't know if that would make any difference.

Agree, she does look a little tight around her pelvis.
Sorry haven't read your other posts, but do you feel there is a problem, how sound does she feel when ridden and how is she in her self?

Yes there is something worng with her back legs, they have too much hair!

Difficult to judge from photo's of her standing, really need to be there and see her moving

well i never thought there was a problem until someone commented in PG - "Lovely mare and I don't mean to be rude but she is very obese I'd be worried about laminitis and her back legs don't seem right at all is her back ok?"

she feels fine when ridden, although she's only being ridden in walk at the moment, and it's hard to judge how she seems in herself as she's a bit down at the moment anyway because she has a throat problem and a cough. It's clearing up now though and she'll be off antibiotics at the end of the week. Her appetite is fine

She looks a little stiff/tense in her back, could this be the case? IMO would be worth having a chiro have a look at her.

how on earth can you say that by looking at a stationary horse???

OP does she track up whilst walking/trotting???

if not, get her checked...

Tracking up is when the horses back feet land in the hoofprints of their front feet / past their front feet (known as overtrack)

get someone to lead her round a school...watch where she puts her front hoof, as she walks away, keep your eyes on the imprint in the sand and watc where her back hoof lands...

it should, if she is loose and comfortable through her back, land on or in front of the front imprint..ie step on or over it..

as she is a dumpy cob, it would more likely be on it!!!

it actually looks more like a conformation fault...she looks like she has straight hocks..and that shes stood on her tip toes...its difficult to see properly past that huge tail mind!! So I could be wrong HTH

I can say because my experience tells me that this is a possibility.

in your experience as a "chiro"??

just wondered, as my back lady always likes to see my boys walking....
