As the title say really, I've being trying to sell my lovely Terrano for a while now, its priced fairly and is in superb condition, but no interest what so ever?

Is anyone buying 4x4's anymore? Is there anywhere good I could advertise (its been on autotrader)?

No market at the moment...

I have a Mitsubishi Pajero and we were thinking of selling it to buy a cheaper run around....there is no market for 4x4 or any cars at the moment..as quoted of the radio today....

'The bottom has fallen out of second hand car sales'

I would love to have a full tank of diesel and not worry about driving it!!

I will be looking for a new 4x4 soon. My horse is 793 kg and there is no way a car could safely tow him. Also Living in Scotland, I find they are fantastic for the bad weather. There have been many instances of floods and snow where I would never have been able to see to my horse without one.

i went to the car auctions on friday night. need to get a small car for daughter. i sold my shogun last sept and i think i must of been lucky as i could not believe the prices 4x4s were going for. nothing made more than £1375.00 and some were only 8yo. it was the same for MPV they were rock bottom.

It's crazy. The 4x4 market is falling falling because of the governments short sighted tax schemes.

As a 4x4 owner and hunting nut it's yet another infringement on my Livelihood that tha Labour government has introduced.

Makes me so angry....

Well mine is a fantastic condition SWB 2000 (new shape) Terrano 2.7 TDI top of the range SE, air con, electric everything etc etc in sporty blue and silver. So yes, it just fits into the lower tax bracket

I'm advertising it at 3250k but would accept 3k. Its a bit more ecomonical being the SWB version, but will still pull 3000kg.

And still nothing..... not one phone call

my trailer is going to Brightwells auctions [ at Shobden]this friday , its an IW 505 blue , and my silver 52plate landrover diesel TD5 in a couple of weeks time. I hope there is still a market.....................

I've been trying to sell my little 4x4 for a while and it wont budge! Its not a major guzzler and its a 2004 so isnt affected by the new road tax as it has lower emissions so will only go up to £260 in the next two years but people are definately put off buying at the moment.

I think it has taken quite a bashing recently, but if the price of fuel drops it might pick up again.

I have just sold my Nissan Navara pickup. I had it for sale for about 3/4 weeks and had quite a few timewasters. We started off with a very high price and then dropped but in the end got a pretty good price for it. I think it was luck more than anything though!

I sold mine off the side of the road outside our house because we are on a main road. I did put ads up in all the local horsey places but got no response.

I've got the trailer for sale now though and had no response at all - I'm quite shocked - I would have thought it would be the best time to sell it now!

I've just bought a very clean 300TDi Discovery, 1996 with FSH and only 82k miles, paid £1700

Very pleased as sold my Daf 45 lorry on a P plate.
Yesterday I drove 246 miles to and from collecting my 2nd hand Equitrek Spacetreka and Disco did 32mpg .... much better than the lorry and less bills with having the trailer.

Good time to buy if you are looking for one.

That sounds a really good deal! They never used to go below £2k regardless of mileage, and that is very low for the year. FWIW, we have had a 300 and a TD5, and the 300 is much quieter!

i have a 96 disco been trying to sell a while no takers with new mot and 1800 pounds didnt think i would have a problem

Sorry for hijacking this post, but I'm a bit confused about this change of tax on bigger cars. I thought it was only for cars registered AFTER 2001 but reading some these replies it might affect those BEFORE? Anyone know for deffo?
