Is there still a market for the humble older hacking pony?

My first horse was a 5 year old, he was great but wasn't for me. I had actually been recommened to buy a young horse by my YO, I think she had an alternative motive, and wanted me to pay her to work him. Ended up selling him as I was miserable and could not go out on him etc. He is now in a fantastic home and doing really well competing. I then bought a 16 year old horse, that was nearly 2 years ago and she will be 18 next year. She is fantastic, still going strong on long fast hacks, and I feel confident and happy with her. I love older horses and think they are worth their weight in gold. The same YO (no longer mine!!) has now recommended someone I know buy their 9 year old daughter a 3 year old horse. Brill, thats a disaster waiting to happen!!!!

Me! I want a safe, quiet old plod who is happy to pootle about the lanes, not buck me off if I've I've got my brave cantering pants on and who can do the odd dressage test. Someone who will happily be fussed over for hours by me and kids and won't object to being decked out like a Christmas tree for the yard Xmas show. So if anyone has one of these paragons in the Wiltshire area I'd love to know!
