Hey guys

So I need to clip my rather furry WB as he's sweating up with the slightest bit of work and takes ages to dry.

My problem is that I only have a standard neck medium weight turnout. I feel he'll need a neck cover as he's out 24/7. My rug has no attachments for a neck cover. I can't take it to get velco/rings attached as it's my only MW and is on him :). I'm loath to buy a MW combo as hel be in his HW before I know it (which has a neck).

Soooo is there such a thing as a neck cover that u don't need to attach to th rug? I'm thinking like a snuggy hood but with no head, just the neck and with a bit of fill and obviously waterproof.

Any ideas?

Cheers guys.

No such thing that i know off.
I would charge less than £10 to put 3 D rings on a rug, for hood, you could always use safty/nappy pins but not sure how long they would last with the rolling and rubbing that neddies do.:)

I cut slots in the relevant places on the neck of a rug, but up to the reinforced binding on the neck. if the neck ruf has velcro straps (like Amigo) I just push them through & fasten them. Otherwise I use thick tape to make a loop to attach the neck hooks to.

Snuggy Hoods make a turnout hood with no head. It still does still have the bib part as well as the neck though

They had them on special offer recently but I am not sure if they still do

Cheers for the replies guys.

Polldark, I understand what you're saying about cutting slots in the rug at the neck/binding. What do you mean when you say you use thick tape to make a loop?

I have as snuggy hood, which is headless, it's designed for outdoor turnout use and on the website it says its fine for use in heavy rain. They suggest you leave it on to dry as the fabric keeps the heat in. I wash mine regularly to get the mud etc off of it and it's washed really well. I suppose you could nikwax it to make it completely waterproof, but I've found it's only really in relentless rain that it soaks through, they seem to be pretty water resistant normally.

They do have some on sale at the moment. ;)

I'm eyeing up the headless snuffy hoods on the website. They've only got an XL in beige! Haha. Theres an XXL in brown but think it may be a bit big on my 17.3hh. Il give them a buzz when they open tomorrow.

Cheers guys x
