Is this a fair price to pay - sharer/ part loan

So I am offering the following:
15:1hh RC mare - 200% safe!! jumps / shows / dressage/ funrides/ ODE etc - loves to win!
Hacks alone / company never strong or spooky / snaffle mouth / 100% traffic
On DIY livery currently in on an evening but out through the day with my other horse @ this yard, private off road hacking, access to some lovely rides, school with lights
I am looking for someone who will have almost full use for riding, lift competitions if required no cost, accompany me on funrides - all I ask is that they can spare at least 3/4 days to exercise her, help do a bit of poo picking, bring other horse in when you ride so he is not left alone outside - £80 a month including shoeing.
Is that a fair price to ask for a contribution in the current climate?
 
I agree definately sounds like a good deal to me! I used to pay £80 a month and that was 2 years ago. I think the going rate is £100+ a month now I have a few friends that share their horses and they charge £100.
 
:o whoever gets that deal is a very lucky person!!!!! id give anything for a loan horse like that!!! and for that deal!!! i pay 150 per month plus farrier shavings etc for a pony whilst owner at university, and i cried when i left my riding school, im the only one at the whole yard who jumps bar my best friend and whenever we do the yard manager tells her off for jumping because its 'dangerous' by the sounds of your loan deal, id snap it right up!
 
Very good! But maybe be prepared to go lower / negotiate for the right person? You might get someone adequate who can afford the whole lot but a brilliant person who perhaps can't.

As I have not got any interest yet - you may be right!

I do have a young girl coming to see, can't afford to pay in money but as I have 7 neddies possibly can help out instead.
 
as long as you are prepared to subsidise someone elses hobby .... an accompanied hack at a riding school is 30+ for an hour!! i think you need to cost realistically otherwise you might feel short changed in a couple of months. work out the costs on a per day basis to include shoes/ins/feed/diy rent/bedding..
 
I am in North Yorkshire and I struggled to find someone willing to pay £20 a week to share. I think it depends which part of the country you are in. I am now taking £10 a week for mine but the sharer is doing stable chores 5 days a week and only getting to ride weekends. She is also being taught by me and my friend and having accompanied hacks but as I'm 6 months pregnant and can no longer ride, beggars can't be choosers!
I have had TONS of offers of people willing to do horse for free though... :(
 
I think advertising with a monthly contribution is great as does help deter some of the freeloaders but as has been mentioned, be prepared to negotiate down for the right person.
