Is this a feasible aim?

To think Blue might be able to progress from BN/TB .95M to 1.05M or 1.10M BSJA class by May? Presuming we do a show each weekend? Or is that a silly aim?

I know he is easily capable of a 1.05M TB at the moment and was looking at videos of him jumping the .95M TB from Sunday and he makes it look so easy just pops over them - i would put i on here but its a little dark and on my home computer - haven't got internet at home.

No that seems pretty spot on to me, thats the kind of progress I'd want in one of mine. Bear in mind the transition from indoors to outdoors can throw some horses a fair bit so may take a step back then, but is do-able Id say. goodluck!

Sounds fine, but I have certainly noticed a big difference between 105 TBs and 105 BSJA - certainly the TB competitions I have been to do build fences up to height, but seldom full width or BSJA complexity.

I am a terrible show jumper though - absolute chicken!!

I'd want to see him established at BSJA Disco (1m/1.10m) for a while first, but it isn't completely beyond the realms. It really depends on the horse and the rider as to how quickly you can / will progress

I agree that BSJA tracks in my experience tend to be much more solid and complex than TB's too

TB = trailblazers. Lots of venues do TB sj & dr, & if you jump a double clear or get over 58% dr, you go thru to the second round.

Yer i know the BSJA tracks seem to be wider and include a combination or a one stride double (this isn't a problem for him as we only jump one stride doubles at home, arena isn't big enough for 2 stride ones!) but apart from that seem to be more or less the same as a TB at least at Duckhurst they do anyway!

Yes i plan to move him up to doing the BN and Disco at the next BSJA show which should hopefully be on 25th Feb. Will stick with that for a bit before moving higher

Ohh - we are lucky (or unlucky if your that way inclined) as our local Trailblazer venue holds the TB one day and BSJA the next, or vice versa, and exactly the same coursebuilder and jumps are used, and he does not make the TB courses any different.
So if you can jump 95 TB, then you can do the affiliated one too

I took my boy to his 2nd SJ outing at an TB 85cm there. I hadn't been there b4 and had a bit of a shock as they were HUGE - half of them came above my waist and were just as wide and I'm 5'7"! Luckily my boy wasn't as scared as I was and jumped them all beatifully.

Well they would do if they were 85cm...

You are 1.70m tall, and your waist is half your height.....85cm

Oh dear - I am one of those sad people who know the exact height of jumps on my body... and the exact length of my stride and eye height....

Hip bone = 85cm, Waist - 95cm , my eyes are just over 16hh high and 3 of my strides are one pony canter stride, and 4 a horses.

Nothing sad about it....I know exactly where 1.10m, 1.20m, 1.30m and 1.40m come up to on my body too

Helps when you're putting the jumps up lol!

Yes, I'm the same. However I still work my thigh, waist and chest in 2'9", 3'3" and 3'9". How sad is that. At least your all in cm's.
