im thinking of putting my pony in a livery yard.It has stables, grazing, a large jumping arena, small training arena, onsite farrier every week, hay and bedding, lovely hacks out and manure disposal. It is £25 per week to keep your horse there, this includes use of arenas, grazing and stabling. It is £1 extra a day for them to turn the horse out for you and £5 extra a day for mucking out etc. Haylage is £10 extra a week. Do you think this sounds fair? i have never been to a livery before so any help is greatly appreciated. Many thanks

Sounds fair to me. I pay £20 a week at the moment for stable, field and school but I used to pay £30 - it really depends on the area. My current yard doesn't do services but the £30 one did, same as yours, £1 for turnout, £2 with a rug change, £5 for muck out including haynets and waters. I've never been anywhere that included adlib hay or haylage.

Yes thats very reasonable :) I pay £90 pcm for my stable and grazing, £20 pcm for my haylage then my straw works out about £10 p/month so £120 p/month but in summer its obviously cheaper so I am going to get my straw through summer so its's cheaper for me in winter :) One thing I will say is make sure you know how much bedding/hay/haylage you are allowed for what your paying! Where I am now is adlib but before wasn't and it got silly paying for more etc...

Really a lot depends on how it suits you and your boy.
I pay £25 per week for a stable, plus £10 per week for forage, if you only need visit once per day, this is better for you, provided it suits.
If they turn out every day, and change rugs £1 is reasonable.

Thanks, so would you say it is a average price? i was really unsure on whether it was a good deal or not and there is only one stable left so ill have to make my mind up quick

£25 a week for a stable, grazing and hay, that is a brilliant price. Even if the grazing was rubbish that is still a good price.
The only place I knew of that included hay and straw used to charge £35 a week and that was years ago.

Sounds good to me. For the same basixally i pay £35 per week then its £2 to turnout (or £3 for short notice) £6 for full care (£8 if short notice) and we pay by our haylage by the net. Before i went there i looked at another couple of places and they included unlinited haylage for £10 a week so definately seems reasonable :)
