I put my horse on horsemart last night, then a few hours later I got this email.

Hi Saw your advert do you still have the horse available?I will like to know the present health condition of the horse and Kindly furnish me with some picture's to forward to my son whom am buying for in Italy to have a view. Await your response. Philip»

Is this a typical scam email?

Thanks Guys, I thought it was a scam!! Just wish someone would come & view my horse. Didnt get those types of emails on ad horse.

Who says "Furnish me with some pictures" ? Prob everyone but me, just sounds odd :D

P.s send him some pictures of a right old shabby donkey :P :D

I could send him some pics of my daughters soft toy pony, lol

Lol I spent some time 'playing' with some of these scammers, I placed an add for a 3 legged Curabian Stallion who could do a 5 beat canter :D the scammers came rolling in - I had such fun inventing names and stories and asking them really really silly questions, my persona was Herr Finge Stucke, and I would string them along for months and months, I had one lovely lady wanting to marry him by email two, in the end I had to kill him off (he was eaten by the Iweetoomuch indians in South America). Finge Stucke was eventually arrested and imprisoned for the murder (by elephant) of his Aunt Fanny, and despite the best efforts of his daughter Pinky, and his son Little Finge none of his emailers would come up with the £1m bail money :D:D:D

Aha hahaha haha pmsl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is called the 901 Scam, it originates in Nigeria, 901 is the number relating to the law passed by the Nigerian Government to supposedly stop these scammers, having said that the scammers now come from all over.

They will offer to buy the object of the sale unseen, they will them send you a Bankers Draft/Order for over the amount of the sale, the balance is to pay their 'transporter', they ask you to cash the draft and Western Union the remainder to their 'transporter'. Between 1-3 months later (depending on your bank) the draft 'bounces' as a fake, you have already sent the cash! They are not actually interested in whatever it is you have for sale and I have never heard of anyone actually losing their horse or indeed any other item - it is just your money they are after.

Oh! One of those...thanks

I agree 'Furnish me with some pictures' sounds very very odd even for a non native english speaker, When mine was advertised for loan i deleted any emails that where not in england.
