Is this a Splint??

B pulled a shoe off in the field on Thursday, he wasnt being a tit, probably did it getting up from rolling or something equally dim! When I came up to the yard I checked his legs and found this! is it a splint?? Its not hot, he is not lame at all and its not tender etc.

I have been rubbing witch hazel into it, but its not got any smaller/bigger, so not sure really what to make of it!!

I have also posted this in Vets, but I trust a lot of peoples opinions in here!!!

Hi, Always hard to tell with pictures , but yes it looks like a splint. You will probably find that lameness will not be an issue, usually this occurs if the splint is pressing on the suspensory. If you are concerned re showing at higher levels then lazer therapy can really shrink the splint (Idid this a few yrs ago and it disappeared!) but other than showing it shouldn't cause you any real problems. Just keep an eye on it.
