Is this a stupid question (treeless pads)...

But from what I can see, a Prolite saddlecloth looks the same thing - in principle anyway - as a lot of the treeless pads out there. Would it be a really stupid idea to use a Prolite instead? In particular with a Libra.
 
I think you'll find that the treeless pads are much thicker, I did use a prolite with a poly pad as an interim measure until my barefoot pad arrived, but wouldn't long term,
 
The pad that came with my barefoot Cheyenne is an entirely different kettle of fish to anything I've seen normally used with a treed saddle - its very thick and sturdy, almost semi-structured...and apparently expensive new ( mine was 2nd hand) so would imagine not... but have no experience with libras or other treeless so am not sure about them.
