Is there such a thing as battery powered CCTV that I could put at the field and watch from home?

Battery powered cameras are available yes, you will need a broadband connection at your field to transmit the images though, not sure how realistic that is for most people

Someone told me about wireless camera's that work off a 3g signal, they suggested I got them now my horses are not at home. She seemed to think they would cost about £200.

How far is your house as we have one that works on a signal and our yard is about 3/4 - a mile away and it broadcasts to our tv

On google maps, it's 0.6 miles away, driving. So I guess as the crow flies it's a bit less.
I thought about a motion capture camera, but then I wouldn't have a live feed.
