I am booked in to go to an indoor xc clinic with a trainer here, with my friend from same yard.

Problem is, I havent ridden in 2 weeks due to frozen arena... cost of clinic is £25 which imo is worth paying just to use the indoor :p
Think I would be mad to go?
I am on a 4 year old, who is normally sane, and he has had his food cut down and has been out 9-4 every day!

What do you think? mad to go? Can't decide whether worth going, it is meant to be very good, and I just want to get horse out and about different places!

If it was me, I would still try and go. The thing more likely to stop me is anything would be whether it is safe to get to the venue in this weather, whether hacking, or by lorry or trailer.

I was in a similar position at the weekend although my horse had only been out of work for a week. We went and had a great time. The whole group were on very excitable horses that had not been out because of the snow so it was rather exciting to start with warming up but when they started jumping they all focused really well. It was £25 well spent as it was indoor arena, fantastic instructor, and exercise for the horse when I couldn't have hacked out because of icy conditions.

Go for it, just make sure you have some super glue on the saddle!

lol, glad to hear people don't think Im completely stupid!

Jumping saddle and short stirrups, I think, with a martingale for just in casies :p

we should be ok getting there, there is a route we can take which means main roads for most of the way :)

Yip I was in the same position a couple of weekends ago with a jumping clinic after I couldn't ride through injury and it was fine, mine is a 6yr old green but usually quite sane and was just a bit enthusiastic to start with. Thing is with clincs you can usually do as much or as little as you feel comfotable with. An hour hire of a big indoor school around us is that price anyway so worth it IMO

I would go, if it was the only way I could Charlie exercised. My only concern would be the state of the roads. I have a lesson booked for later this week in an indoor school and the only thing that will prevent us from going would be the state of the roads

If you can get there safely then yes, I would go. £25 is not that much for a clinic and, as you say, at least you will have access to a school and horse will definitely get ridden!

The main roads were fine this morning but after all this snow i dont think they'll be to good!! I dread to think how long its going to take to get to work in the morning lol il let ya no tomorrow how bad it is round there :D
