Is this any good for a conformation critic?

Please be nice if it is. This is following a conversation with my farrier about his front feet and up to fetlock. But I won’t say what he said. I realise he has boots on (we had just been lunging) which might make it impossible.

No just in general. But I was thinking that. The rest of the pics I managed were close ups of his forehead!

For general critique from what I can see, nice length of rein and shoulder, back end has a fair bit of catching up to do, slightly croup high and potentially a bit straight through the hind leg, but that picture could improve with more muscle.

I sort of agree with bl re. too far away, but from the pic there's nothing glaringly obvious wrong with him conformationally. He has a nice shoulder angle, neck is set on nicely, foot angle matches up with that of pastern and shoulder so far as I can see though the boots make it a bit hard to see. Maybe slightly over at the knee. Nice back & hind end but built level rather than uphill.

For conformation critique I tend to set them up so they are looking forwards with all 4 legs visible though - like this: (feat. my spotty trainwreck!) although on level ground but more confident people may be able to tell things from other angles/setups. Level ground is a commodity I don't have anywhere lol!!

Thanks. Must admit it was a bit of a second thought to try and get pic. As soon as I moved closer he came closer too! The farrier was commenting on how good his pasterns and feet were. I am not up really on conformation apart from thinking there is nothing glaring that sticks out for me.

To be fair if feet/pasterns are off it sets everything else off wrong too, so I'd trust your farrier. He's a really smart horse K :)

I like his front end but the back is a little long and trails into an inadequate backside in proportion to the front. He is a bit straight through the back legs too.

Lower limb conformation I would need to see on a computer screen rather than my mobile as I can't enlarge it enough for my dodgy eyesight ?

Everyone looks at Gray and says WOW. Very few actually step back and break him down and realise he isn't the best put together. Don't get me wrong he is far from the worst but his 'Look At Me' attitude over rules.
