Need to find a bit for my fussy mare, she came to me in a ported kimblewick with control issues! Now I'm happy to say she is now in a hanging cheek french link, and I have brakes! but she does tend to get her tongue over the bit and wave it out of the side of her mouth it looks delightful(not)! so I don't think she is very happy in it - teeth and saddle checked and fine. I was thinking this bit might be worth a go : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BNWT-Double-Jointe...id=p3286.c0.m14
I do not want to try anything that isn't dressage legal, as murphy law says she will love it and then I'll have to go through this all again finding something that is dressage legal!

No.

Mine goes well in a bit with a port but not BD legal.

I'd say not, just looked in the rule book and it doesn't look like any of the premitted snaffles they have pictured. That said I very much doubt anyone would look in the horses' mouth, I've never seen one checked yet!

A friend of mine used to use a magic bit on her mare which is not dressage legal as it has a small port. The one time she forgot to change it and used it in competition the judge noticed, asked to see the bit once she had dismounted and disqualified her!!! I think that is a one in a million chance of being caught though. Typically she had won the class (an elementary qualifier) and didn't get her ticket to the regionals that year due to her disqualification.

As this bit has a tiny port on the losenge I doubt it would be legal. Its worth a try though
