Well this posting has gone on long enough, all points been made, nowhere else to go, my beast needs feeding so I'm off out, if anyone is interested enough to know what I'm on about go to the BHS site, type in bmw in the search box and read up on it, it makes very interesting reading, I WONT BE READING ANY MORE ON HERE, so if anyone wants to ask me anything more pm me.

BMW is such a big company i don't think if all the horsey people refuse to have anything to do with them they will see an effect in their bank balence its just to big

[/ QUOTE ]

also, how many horsey people can actually afford BMWs? most are too broke having spent alltheir money on keeping their horse! i bet a higher proportion of horsey people drive battered old corsas (or fords...).

good point. we had a battered ford mondeo bless it. Went brought a nice fiat that could go into 4 wheel drive and a warrior smashed into the back of it ....warrior = smashed light. fiat = no longer has a boot

lol so i think it would have been wiser to buy a new horse than a new car

EXCUSE ME!

..... but there where a number of riders who kept their horses in Oxfordshire and excercised them on the tracks in the park. They now no longer have access to the tracks in the park as the only alternative to the bridleway is a dual carridgeway.

That is why the British Horse Society fought against the closure so as to save the bridleway.

BMW where not prepared to fund a new bridleway only a new walkway and cycleway.

Hence why the local horse riders where so upset when the bridleway was closed.

BMW's action where a total disgrace and I very much hope that this will put horse riders off buying their cars in future.

This is the funniest thread for ages, and not one person has mentioned popcorn....

In asnwer to the original question, which seems to have got lost amidst discussion of everything from dogs to Corsas, yes, the OP ought to be fine towing that trailer with that car. FWIW, all political issues aside, the BMW estate isn't (IMHO) the best to drive. The Audi is a nicer drive, and a bit more powerful, although it has relatively few toys. The Merc E-class este is a lovely, lovely beast and I'd always rather a Merc than a BMW, but thats just personal preference.

Pedantic, I completely understand your point of view. But your original post on the topic came across as really rude and confrontational. Maybe changing your approach to the subject would help you gather more support and not make people think you're just being a tw*t.
You could've made your point without upsetting anyone and people would've listened. I'm sure all riders would've been interested.
I'm not suggesting you suck up to people, more you should be polite and have manners.

Pedantic; what vehicles do you drive? Do you have dogs; and if so, how do they travel when you take them away from home for any reason?

[/ QUOTE ]

I dont know what all the postings regarding dogs are about

, anyway mine travel on the back seat with a sheet to keep seats clean.

Terrano, nissan not closed any bridleways in britain to my knowledge, Volvo hasnt either or Ford, I have a tranny as well.

I hope your dogs wear harnesses or are in a cage - my OH once had to help deal with a dog that had gone through the windscreen of a car that overturned. Much safer in a cage in the boot than loose

Blimey, what a bizarre thread!

If you want to boycott a car manufacturer for ethical reasons I'm sure you could find many more worthy crimes committed by probably just about every manufacturer on the planet!

Sad the bridleway got closed but I'm not sure the reaction of some is *quite* proportional to the issue at hand

and just to keep the yellow car humour going, I'm off to find a yellow spray paint can...............wasn't funny losing my car in the hospital car park today!

Watch out ickle corsa............!!!

Agree 100%.

Muller Dairies are hoping to expand in my nearest town. The land they want to use, borders a little riding club that my daughters primary school teacher set up.

The increase in traffic will make it almost impossible to safely run it from there, so I shall be demanding that the users of HHO shall cease eating Fruit Corners forthwith.
