£50 a week for DIY livery.
Includes hay, bedding and feed but all responsibility of horses care is my own.
What do you think? I think it is a bit much, it is in Surrey with goodfacilities and hacking but none the less!

I haven't got a clue about livery prices in the UK now, on the surface it does seem a tad pricey, but then again, if you tot up the cost of hay/bedding and feed if you had to buy it yourself how would it compare? Obviously that's with a stable, what about turnout?

Also.......you don't have to worry about ordering all that stuff in (hopefully it's good quality) and, my horse would be on ad-lib hay and a very deep bed! Or do you get a certain amount per week? The feed thing would bother me, do they buy in what you want to feed or do you have to use whatever the yard provides?

Its on the expensive side for surrey, but as Enfys says, once you've added up everything you'd pay out for bedding/hay etc its actually probably a good idea. My main worry about that sort of thing is again, quality and quantity of what is being provided.

The feed and hay is all good quality and I decide what he gets fed. I am only allowed a certain amount of bedding a week but my horse is quite clean so this shouldn't be a problem. Turnout is included.

It is quite expensive but sounds like you have good facilities and grub.
Local yard without good hacking, but indoor school is charging £35 per week. That does include hay but not bedding.
That is based in Hampshire.

DIY by me for turnout, stable, Hay, straw and food (what food you want they get in) Outdoor area to ride in but not fenced, £30 a week

Gosh i pay £20 for a stable, own field, hay and morning feed AND own tack room!! And this doesnt matter what size your horse is 30 inches or 18hh!!!!
I think the best way to work it out is write down how much a week your hay, bedding, and feed costs you and then the rest is how much the stable is going to cost. If its a resonalbe price go for it!! See for me it would only cost 20p feed, 50p hay and £1.20 shavings a week ( YES REALLY!!

) so that would mean it would cost me £ 48.10 for the stable and turnout which wouldnt be ecconomical!!! I presume it would be more economical for you!!

Sounds a tad pricey to me, and I would rather buy in my own feed hay and bedding but thats just me

I've had arguments of how much bedding I use etc when its been included in the price so thats why

xx

The yard I use offer assisted DIY which is stable, hay, straw, feed and either a turnout or bring in, all for £55 / wk in the Northants area.

With all hay and bedding, this sounds about the right price to me.....depending on how much hay sells for in your area.
