Is this fair?

My mare was shod three weeks ago, as im due to be going jumping tomorrow i asked for stud holes.
Enough tho it was written clearly on the shoeing list and my chq reflected the extra cost for the stud holes these werent done.

The farrier is back today to shoe other horses and the YM has arrange for my mares shoes to be taken off, stud holes fitted and shoes refitted.

Farrier is now saying that i have to pay for a re-fit even tho it was his fault that he didnt do them?

Is this fair??? Or should i demand he doesnt it for free as it was his mistake??

As long as it was clearly written - and he's already accepted the cash for it I wouldn't pay it.
