is this genuine?! what on earth is happening here?

this is what's confusing me:

he is utterly pants, and probably not doing the horse much good...

but... he must actually be able to ride. he loses a stirrup in canter and finds it again, he stays on when the horse crashed through the jump...

and how on earth does he stay on over the jumps?

can someone who speaks ?spanish? please translate the end bit for me and tell me if it explains what's going on...

p.s. what a lovely little honest horse...

I saw this a little while back, I feel sorry for the horse but it is kinda funny to see the guy making such a balls of it!

I think it was a charity thing with polo players jumping, could be wrong though.

ah, that would explain it a bit... would explain why he could ride but not jump at all (not saying everyone that rides can jump... but you know what i mean)

i did laugh a lot when i saw the first couple of jumps... but then realised he was doing the whole course and found myself watching to see if he was landing really hard in the saddle because i felt sorry for the poor horse... but yes, it's strangely comical... :D

Ah yes I remember this being posted....poor little honest pony! The guy needs to be taught how to ride properly unless this was a joke?
I hope he hurt his bits and pieces riding like that :P

I would have imagined the rider would have caused himself a fair bit of discomfort jumping like that, not just the horse!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it's portugeese (sp?) at the end the guy who posted it is from Portugal. Although i don't speak either language sorry :(. He does look like he rides like a polo player (no offence to any polo players out there) He could def ride or he would have fallen off so many times he just can't jump.
Poor horse :(

OMG that hurt, both horse and rider, It's given me faith in my own riding ability, no matter how bad I become, I'll never be that bad, how did he stay on though!, If i parted company with the saddle that many times, I'd be airlifted to hospital.

Is the horse over jumping causing the guy to get thrown out of the saddle or is he having a bad day  Does look like a honest horse though :)

I read some of the comments and an explanation was that the rider was paraplegic and had 'no feeling below his legs'. I too (in common with most others) have no feeling below my legs, which end at my feet. However, even on my very worst day, I do not ride like that!

At least the guy will not be able to reproduce - one hopes and prays.

:D oh my days why is the guy trying to jump doesnt he know the steed does that lol ive had to pause n laugh. Im pants at jumping scared so i avoid thats just daft its like hes afraid hes going to hit his feet lol:D oh nooo watching more poor thing him leaning n yanking on his mouth so never mind walloping down on his back ouch

This has been posted before, and I seem to remember the horse was up for sale shortly after, with this video as past of the ad.

I've seen this before too, in a few places. I think it must be a joke of some description. Nobody could be that bad and still get to that level. Surely? But also, quite often he seems to keep his weight out of the saddle as he lands, and he gives the horse room to use his neck. And considering how bad everything else looks, some of his strides aren't too bad either..hmmm

So I think either its a jumper doing some kind of charity thing or parody/joke/whatever....or...it could possibly be another type of rider trying to jump, again for an event of some description.

That must be a joke!!! Riiiiiiiiiiggghht??? I mean there's no way he's that bad... his riding is actually quite good apart from the jumps where he too willingly lets go of everything!

poor poor horse!

Wish horses could talk cause I bet it would have a few choice words to say about his rider!

I will admit to laughing at one of the last fences where he was literally flying!!

x

To actually be able to get back in the saddle after the jump amazes me!! I guess its not all about style - if you're effective and can get over the jump.

Anyone remember the showjumper Annette Lewis and her unique style of jumping? Not quite so extreme I have to say.

What? That's how I jump? Seriously, both stirrups once came off the back of my saddle once over a jump. I have since learned to look up and keep heels down and now don't fall off so much...

the vid got everywhere

the writing at the end says the horses back wasnt hurt and the horse jumped fine the next day or words to that effect.

it was also mentioned it was a charity polo player comp or something.

within the week of the video going up on the internet the horse was for sale  so yup get half the world to see your lovely honest horse jumping and want to 'rescue it' then put it up for sale :D
