is this for real? and what an honest horse...

The bloke can clearly ride as you can see his horse get its stride wrong into the first partof the double but he quite clearly pushes his horse to make up the distance to the second part so he can ride, especially as he manages to regain his stirups which isn't easy. I think its a spoof to be honest.

I think it looks put on to be honest, even I can keep my legs from moving that much when I've jumped in the past, although I've not jumped that big but still, if he plays polo, when he's in the air over the jump he seems to give it that little extra umph himself, and I notice he didn't do it into the black and white double so much, I think he's just larking around

God I need to forward this to my college instructor who constantly criticises my lower leg movement.
Even she would have to admit there might be just one rider worse than me :)

I saw this a while back too!!

Such a lovely horse, obviously can jump brilliant, but such a horrible rider!! The way he whacks the horse after the refusal.. I also wonder how he stays on!! xx

I laughed at the first jump but felt too sorry for the poor, honest horse after a couple of fences. I also didn't think the poor beastie deserved a yank in the mouth and a wallop for a refusal that was in no way its fault.
I too remember Anette Lewis and did indeed think of her when watching this guy. I think it was probably meant to be comical and was put on, or at least exaggerated, but the way he hauled the horse about after the refusal rather soured my sense of humour, I'm afraid. Hope it was someone nice who bought that good wee horse.

One thing to say. I think my jumping confidence wouyld be MASSIVE if I could just have this horse.

Please?

Pretty please?

Lol that looks like how it feels when I 'mjumping one of the ones at the yard....huge lad [17+],proper irishxwarmblood chunky and very springy!! Not done a huge amount of jumping other than chase fences, so taking him SJ'ing is erm, interesting! His answer is 'when in doubt take strides out and launch!'.
I can't see a stride on him to save my life...neither can whatever coach who is teaching from the ground either!
Counting down strides goes something like; First jump 'Six, five, four, thr...FOLD!!!' Second jump 'Six,five,four,three,two-o...FOLD!' Third fence 'Six,Five, Fo....ld!!!'
And it continues as such lmao. All with rather impressive 5ft jumps over every fence regardless what height it is.

Remember the first time I ever jumped him...he jumped as described above [without me and coach knowing how he jumped! lol!], I came up out the saddle similar as vidoed, but feet carried on out of stirrups and then me about another 4ft up completely off the horse in mid air with no reins...and then somehow managed to land back in the saddle after parting with him!! I think my head ended up near the rafters of the school!

No idea to this day how I stuck on that one. After, theoretically, parting with him?!? Pmsl.

I'm glad someone mentioned the amazing Annette Lewis, and I'll chuck a couple more names at you - Alan Oliver and Tony Newbery. Some of you may have to ask your parents (or even grandparents!) about these guys.
