Dangerous Rearing
My daughter of 16 purchased an ex racehorse. She was found to have suffered with an umbilical hernia and had a suture removed last year. She went on to become lame with a suspensory ligament caused by ?poor shoeing. She is back in work but now rears to a vertical position waving her front legs around like a lunatic. Some days she is polite and schools well, others she is a monster. Friends say it may be that she is feeling well for the first time in her life. Her coat/weight/in hand behaviour are fine. Her saddle fits well, no teeth problems and she goes out to the field or in the barn every day. The vet suggests some mind altering drugs used for human schizophrenics and turning her away for a year I am frightened for my daughters safety as the horse's half brother had the same problem and fell back and crushed the owner's foot. We have tried everything. The scan of her leg shows it to be healed and she seems content in every other way.
Does anyone have any advice? Many thanks.
