Noticed a few days ago that my horses splint bone was slightly larger than the other. There was no heat, no swelling and she was 100% sound.
She then developed a small swelling below (and to the side slightly) the enlarged bone. The swelling has a little hardish lump inside it.
Swelling now very small and lump still there. She's still sound and barely any heat.
I don't have much experience of splints so does this sound normal or something more sinister?
Have been cold hosing/ice packs and resting her- anything else I could be doing?
Thanks.
