my new horses passport has arrived from germany.
it has all the sketches of him in it, his previous owners details
but,
NO NAME?????
where it says nom- every field is empty???
do i have to send it anywhere?

You need to send it to whatever passport authority issued it (eg KWPN) and get his name put on it and get your details put on it as the owner. I had to pay about £40 i think to get Archie's name on his and my details as the owner when i sent it back to the KWPN.

Contact the issuing authority and they will tell you what to do.

Vicki, it's probably that they haven't given your horse a registered/competition name so it's up to you! I was in the same boat and it's so hard to think of a few really good ones. Good luck!

My Haflinger name was blank. She was passported in Germany at 6 months old - so I guess she wasn't named then.

But when I contacted the Studbook - she did have a name registered with them.

Do you have to call it something beginning with the right letter for KWPNs depending on their year of birth?

KWPN is year of birth, and for the German ones most names start with the same letter as the sires name

ok he has come over and now has 2 passports.
one has a name on it only and is completly blank on everyother page.
the other has all the relative details but no name?
