is this pony really only 14.2?

i would ring up but for me not quite what am looking for...........i am after 2yr old ish to mature to 15.3 ish
i am in no rush to find i know the one i want is out there will just keep searching

i just thought it was a great cob, but still need to be convinced about the height though and i do know what people mean about show classes having very tall ponies or horses;)

Can you guess the height of these two based on the pics... the same rider is sat on them both... :)

The top horse is def not 14.2hh,mine is 14.2 dead on and that one is way taller than her. He is chunkier than mine but looks to be over 14.2 i reckon.

I'm 5ft 4 and this is me on her

ah so is it a case of a welsh d type and a hack/riding horse..

btw the dun/buckskin is a total stunner.

actully i lie looking again at saddle to leg.. i bet its 13.2!

Are you all ready... No one got near the right height tee hee hee :)

The Dun mare is 15.1hh / 15.2hh

The black mare is a clydesdale cross and she is a smidge over 16.2hh

My friend Cheryl who is sat on both of them ownes the dun and the black mare is an old horse of mine...

This is the same mare with me on her... and im 5'10" :)

You'd be suprised, Width of the pony, how cobby and also a rider can make a heck of alot of difference.
This is 14.1hh

How tall are you Cobalob? The pony looks massive with you on him... but if you look at the pony and ignore you on him he actually looks like a pony, I think its just you that makes him look massive!

Great photo tho :)

I'm 5' and can see over the back of a 14.3hh pony so that lady in (advert) picture must be proper tiny...(like the rabbit ) seriously about 4'10''.

Unless she is in a pothole! :D

Lea, I would have said 15.2 for your dun, but only because I know that pony riders are not allowed a top hat, so would have to be smalls! :p

This pony is 14hh on his tip toes. Jockey at the time was about 4'10, so perfectly feasible that pony in ad is 14.2..

At about the same time as the pic above was taken, so was this one:

This pony is about 13hh, so not HUGELY smaller than the one above...

And this one looks a lot bigger than her passport claim of 145.7cm... Yet she measured in at that, and when lined up next to 15hh horses was definitely a lot smaller!

I personally think he's bigger than 14.2, but I know people who have massive '14.2' showjumpers, they look for 15.3/16 to me! But if thats the way they want to play, unfairly competing in pony classes, theres nothing much we can do.

Well spotted Only_me :)

Your grey is lovely... I'd say about 15'3 ish... although I bet its only 14'3 lol

He rode very big when he was 5 (took me a month to ride his canter) but was very balanced, although he is 3/4 connie so is quite wide to sit on (I'm 5f6 and a half).
He is a proper 148 though, has a life height from JMB :)

I recognise the first photo in that ad. Doesn't this horse belong to someone on HHO? Can't remember who it is but looks so familiar.
