is this pony worth its money?

Quite probably, if he is trustworthy, straightforward and capable of taking a novice

Plus he has a lovely face!

Mind you, I'm sure there are some diamonds in the rough out there that are just as good for that kind of level of competing.

No this is our pony

just curious why our pony was so cheap, we paid about £1700 i think from memory earlier this year he was jumping 1.10m with the previous owner, my daughter hasnt reached that level yet, wont be long though as she did go through a stage of fear of heights but thats has seems to have gone since our holiday.

ponies like that are like gold dust., and Im sure someone will pay that for their little darling........ personally I wouldnt pay that, but then I think kids should learn to ride on naughty cheeky ponies (gives em stickability!!), not ones that never put a foot wrong!!

[/ QUOTE ] Has your pony got the similar level of experience and competition results that the one in the ad has got - has it done Pony Club, been on lots of Pony Club teams, competed successfully in dressage, showing, showjumping and cross-country competitions etc? That is what pushes up the price.

And... is the poster James Dean also you, and doing the same thing?

Absolutely - the pony has a very good competition record and that is what you are paying for - it is not just a standard kid's pony.

Small safe competition ponies are worth a fortune and their resale value is still quite good as they age too better than a horse as ponies tend to go on a bit longer!
