Is it possible for us to find out anything about Tessy's history ? Her passport was done when we bought her as her old owner 'lost' it.... hmmm:rolleyes: Now on the new one is doesn't have her sire/dam/birthplace or breeder. Just her name, LIFE NUMBER, birth details, and microchip NO.

Is it possible to search any history ? No past owners in it being new.

Thanks :)

Can the micro chip comany give you past regsteed owners? or pass on letter from you to the?

Certainly have a google her parents if you have those details and see

It's a weatherbys passport so would i just send them an e-mail ? :) Sadly we don't know anything about parents :(

Well if you're lucky then the microchip will predate the passport and the number will lead you to the original owner - you can ask your vet to look up the number. If you're unlucky she will have been microchipped when the current passport was done, in which case it will be very hard to trace any history without any more details.

You maybe surprized. by chance a friend of the lady who bred baby saw a post by me on welsh cob forum and tra la contacted me so it can be possible :)

Stupid question allert !! Do you not register the microchip with the chip company like you do with dogs?

If not and horse wanders off/ is stolen etc. - is found and vet find chip how do the reunite horse and owner?

She was apparantly microchipped prior to the passport being done, her microchip is 958000002385159, i thought so :( thank you

I believe the chip is registered to us :) So they would scan and it brings up our details

In that case the chip will have been registered to the previous owner also - so the chip co will have prior ownerd details - just got to convince them to share!!

i just dont know who to contact ? eek it has the vets who did her passport, if it's weatherbys passport will chip be weatherbys ? hmphm

Who did you contact to register the chip to you when you bought her? Weatherbys isn't a bad place to start - perhaps give them a call in the morning

shall have to ask mum ! I have e-mailed them but i dont expect anything they must be very busy without me asking them for info lol

love that tess has a weatherbys passport!!!!! you could start up cob racing :D

im pretty sure weatherbys should have the micro chip number. however do you know when she was micro chiped?

if before passport was lost.... was weatherbys the original passporter...otherwise i cant see them having 'before' details... as where would these details come from
if after passport lost... well then they only have you and your details!

my friend has a pony who came from ireland whos passport was 'lost'..... as were all the others that come over with the dealer! she likes to rename them with her prefix..... we've always said that the dealer threw the passport into the sea ;)

I did wonder why our little (slow and lumpy) dont tell her ;) cob had one lol ! Well this is it ! everything the dealer told us could be bulltish so god knows when she was microchipped, we are stilling awaiting her vacination details this was over a year ago now ;) So nay chance there. Oh i think Tess was shipped over and she managed to 'lose' it before selling otherwise her lie that she had owned tess for 2 years would be shown ;)

I don't think you should worry too much, Tessy is famous in her own right now - she's thrown an exceptional foal who is probably famous worldwide!. Can't believe that Dolly is only 4 months, what a little (huge) darling. I reckon you should move on from there. Breeding lines are considered very important, and they should be - but that doesn't mean that a real gem won't come from little or no known parentage. Doesn't matter how good the breeding if they can't trot in a straight line! I wonder how many people on here have the most wonderful horses, but don't know the breeding?

Suppose it that curiosity :) thank you lovely, that's very true most of my friends dont know their horses history and they are all so special and beautiful in their own way :) Sometimes un-earthing history brings up things you would rather not know :P
