way over the top? My good friend R breeds BCs and Central Asian Sheepdogs and has decided to start breeding JRs seriously. She has her original JR who has had 2 litters and now she has taken on an outsider broken bitch pup to show and ultimately breed from. Said pup is with me for a couple of weeks as friend has a litter of BCs and doesnt want to take the risk of introducing a strange dog. Said dog is an absolute love, creates no problems and adores cats and horses

. Said pup costs 1,ooo euros on the open market as a show standard pup

Is this possible? What do pedigreed show standard broken JRs go for in GB? Will put up some photos of Menta (Mint) this evening-she is adorable and its going to be hard to send her on

Impossible to say really, as Jack Russells arent recognised by the Kennel Club so there is no such thing as a show standard one?

In our local papers/in H&H they seem to go for £175-£200ish but that is for an ordinary working/pet one

Ahem.... my lovely Boris is not KC reg, just bog standard short working JR with unknown history, He was £200 (he's 1 and half year old now). JRs aren't KC regconised, only Parsons if i am correct. The price you just said is silly for a non pedigree/non KC reg breed. But on other hand JR's are wonderful pets as i know mine is!

He's in my signature

JRT's are recognised by the KC (Well Parson Jack Russels) so therefore a K reg. top show standard JRT will make a lot more than an unregistered £200 pet JRT.
The Parson JRT is the long legged true working type.

I thought Mairi was referring to Jack Russells?? Parson Jack Russells are a completely different breed??

My boyfriend's mum breeds lhaso apsos and they're from a relatively good bloodline and the stud dog is shown and won a few competitions. She sells the pups for around £500 and I think they're suppose to be a little lower than the current market value! I don't know how much Jack Russels go for, but I think they're slightly more popular than lhasos and might go for more. I knew someone who was selling labradors from a really good bloodline and show background for nearly £1000!
