When I ask my horse to turn anticlockwise, from the ground not when ridden, she crosses her near hind in front of her off hind. When i ask her to turn clockwise she crosses her off hind behind her near hind, rather than placing it under her body. Has anyone experienced this and had it investigated?

What would it suggest? She has been diagnosed with PSD (Worse in off hind) but not sure if i can use this as an indication of improvement or lack of improvement as she has also got other problems. The lameness is proving hard to spot but this is really obvious.

My PSD was more a feeling when ridden. Before diagnosis he felt on the forehand and unwilling to collect.

Out of interest how are you treating your PSD? I used the hydrotherapy spa and halved the time the vet thought it would take.

At the moment she has just had the HS medicated with steroids. Then we are going for shockwave. I could organise hydrotherapy but would need to speak to vet as there are complications! Will pm you!

Doesn't sound like PSD to me, not in hind legs anyway; Mine felt more stiff and not using leg properly.

I had a scan which confirmed this.

Hind legs are hard to diagnose, and even harder to treat especially if not caught early.

My pony had the neurectomy done and it was very successful

When Jesper had PSD he used to cross one leg under differently to another. I seem to remember when trotting he would almost plait but only with one leg and this wasn't usual so I'd imagine it could be possible that what you describe is due to the PSD but I couldn't give a definite answer.
