Would it be realistic to expect to buy this:
4-6yo
16-17hh
ISH type, but could be wbxtb or anything really
Potential to event to pre novice one day, with a lot of work put in. Decent paces and good jump. Can be very green but not dangerous and must have a fairly sane head.

On a budget or 3.5k and under?

Or am I looking at loads more for that kind of horse? Honest answers please.

Think Gamebird has one she might sell you for that

The "in this climate" thing doesnt wash with me i'm afraid. Know someone who has been looking for ages and there is NOTHING suitable. The one she has found would have been sold 8 times over in one day....

You are probably looking for what 80% of riders are after....

Really? Balls.

Hhhm depends what "quirks" they are, I won't take on an established bucker/rearer/piss taker/very strong horse- my riding ability wouldn't cope so I wouldn't do it to the horse!! If it is just green but willing then maybe...

I have just about that in to sell at the moment, For about your budget and I have just sold one that would have fitted the bill as well, so yes you should be able to manage that.

You are after exactly what i am looking for. . .but i have a larger amount of money to spend depending on sale of my ned if it happens. .

And i will be looking in August. . . but im in a different area to you. .

I have seen plenty around the price range. . .but some look pretty green. . . .im sure you will find one

I have just bought an ISH for 4K - he is 4 yrs old 16.3hh, a lovely honest type who has already done a couple of showjumping comps and now just needs bringing on.

You can find them but you will have to move fast - I called about him within an hour of his ad going up online.

I got roughly what you are discussing for £4k but that was after looking at a real bunch of unsuitables before that around the same price - he has been a star and is getting there

Generally speaking, IMO no. I'd expect to pay £4 - £6k, but you might find something through word of mouth.

Ditto that. Although, I've just seen you won't be looking until August and prices tend to drop around then/Sept when a lot of nice horses come on the market needing a quick sale due to riders going off to uni.
