Last night my horse came in yet again withhis rug not done up properly at the front, it was gapping open, quite obviously not done up tight enough. As this has happend before and my horse has come in wet I have mentioned to the YO about making sure his rugs are done up properly at the front, so natuatally I was rather annoyed to see his rug like this last night. I left a note on the board last night saying 'Can Archies rugs please be done up properly at the front. His medium weight needs to be done up on the tighest hole, Thanks'
Then thismorning at 7.45am I get a text from the YO saying can you ring me please. So I rang straight away thinking some thing was wrong, instead she just ranted at me saying how pissed off she was at my 'snotty' note!! I told her it wasnt snotty at all and I had mentioned about his rugs not being done up properly before. She then went on saying how hard the job is and they have alot to do and shes feels she cant do anything right for me and what a difficult job it is and shes pissed off and so on.....
I told her is wasnt a shity note at all and I had said about my rugs before. But she seems to think I think shes not compitent. She also went on to say that I no how hard the job is (coz I used to work with horses) and theres me thinking, yea but I always did the job properly.
Anyway, Im really annoyed and think she is out of order. I appreciate I maybe should have spoken to her and not left a note, but like I said to her, I have gone to talk to her about things in the past and she is not the easiest person to talk to and has been quite rude to me.
I dont get why she keeps moaning about the job being so hard, thats what you do, get over it. If yards done want to do extras (that we pay for!) then they shouldnt offer them.
Im really annoyed, coz the main reason we moved to this yard was so we could pay to have the horses turned out in the mornings, coz the yard is a long way from home.
Grrrrr, so theres my rant. Sorry its so long.

YO completely in the wrong....... if you pay for something to be done it should be done properly. The amount of horses done makes no difference to the amount you pay!!
If something isn't done right I always leave a note so that the instructions are clear and can't get mixed up through word of mouth.
I'd be fuming if I were you!! (not at the rug mix up, but at the YO's attitude!!)

I had this on full livery - agree YO is in the wrong but I wrapped insulation tape around the straps of the rugs only leaving the hole I wanted using open - worked a treat!

The yard I was on was full of trainees so it was a different person every day doing it - thought it might just make it easier/more comfortable for the horse - although my lot had them done up so tight he could barely move!

O bladdy hell - wot a moron!

Thats like putting a saddle on without doing the girth up properly - doh! Ive had a bad experience with a rug not done up properly (not human error, but rug design) but it would have had the same outcome. Rug came undone at front, spooked horsey, horsey tried to jump out of field due to fright of the rug flapping under him and got himself and said rug wrapped in barbed wire!

U are perfectly within your rights to do what u have done. Is there anyone else u can ask to turn out for you, or do as suggested with tape over the holes not to be used - good idea!

To be honest, Im thinking of just getting up at stupid am to go and do him myself coz I cant be doing with this.
This yard couaes me so much stress coz of the unreasonable owners, first the trailer business, then the dog stuff and now this!

Thats not on really. The have been doing similar where I am, but thankfully only like 2 holes loose, but with a cob who 'just' fits the rugs right when they are on the last hole (if I get a smaller ones it too tight!) I do get a bit miffed. Am giving them a week to see if it is just a certain member of staff.

Thing is its obvious as only ONE hole is worn - go figure
