Wondering if anyone can help, just found this on my horse. None of mine have ever had ringworm before sonot sure if that is what it is?

I know picture isn't great, but it is roughly circle shape which made me think it's ringworm. Looks like there was a scab which has come off to reveal skin etc underneath.

Please help me :(

Forgot to say she has been on strong anti biotics and is still having some in her feed due to cut on back leg. Came home from vet clinic on tuesday which is only place I can think she has got it from :(

Don't panic just yet!! Has she got any other else where? If no, then I would say its not ring worm, as she would have loads and they are perfect like circles.
Is she rugged up? Clipped? The TB mare I had got something very similar and I thought it was ring worm. Turned out is was a form of heat rash. She was very skinny, so I was rugging her up, but I was rugging her up too much, and she was sweating, and the dry sweat cause a skin condition. I cut her rugs back, and washed the affected areas with tea tree shampoo and within a week they really cleared up.
It could also be a simple cut. Where abouts is it?

base of neck so not covered by rug, she has a l/w at night is clipped below this but only a kind of bib clip. Haven't seen any others but is a circle.

I had a new donkey with a scabby face. Vet was convinced it was ringworm, took a skin scrape and it came back negative. Get your vet out to have a look, treat it as ringworm and take the necessary precautions until proven otherwise:)

Ringworm comes in all shapes and sizes not always perfect circles at all. I would treat for ringworm anyway.

if there isnt anymore of them then i wouldn't have thought it was ringworm. Maybe just a scab coming off a graze from her little adventure the other week!

I'd keep an eye on it and check for others. In the mean time try not to cover it.. if it is then the heat from the body can encourage it to spread. The photo could be it but could be a small cut... its hard to tell.

One of mine had a 5 day wormer and the power of it bought out ring worm or so the vet said. Sometimes if you knock them with something strong like the anitbiotics then it can come out because they are a bit down compared to normal.

Perhaps hibi scrub it but don't panic and just watch out for other areas. They will looks like raised circles of hair which will then drop out. You can treat internally/externally and its not too big a deal so long as you keep your isolated and virkon everything to prevent it from spreading.
