I have a 17 inch English leather worldbeater gp saddle.dark brown made in walsall in good condition is it worth anything do you think? I have had it quite a long time and just wonder if its worth anything and if so wher is the best place to try and sell it.
Thanks

I would put it on ebay. As it's named and english leather you should get something for it. Maybe have a look on there and see if you can find anything similar for comparison?

Thanks for reply will have a look just wondered if its worth trying to sell it. Has any one heard of this make? I cant see any on ebay.

If you're gonna bin it, I'll have it!

Thanks for replys but why do you say bin it? its in good condition and made in walsall england. Is it a bad make or something.

It will be worth something to someone, so I'd stick it on ebay.

There are people out there who can't afford 800 quid on a new saddle, or 300 for that matter, and not everyone is a saddle snob!

My mate has a saddle made in india, I laughed when she told me, but I had a good look at it, yeah it aint as good as a 900 quid english leather saddle I compared it to, but hell there sure aint 800 quids worth of difference in it.
She's happy sat in it, her horse goes great in it, and it was within her budget.

So there is a market for the cheaper ones. Even if you only get 20 quid for it, its better in ur pocket than it collecting dust if ur never gonna use it again x

The difference in leather, stitching etc is pretty obvious but the real difference is what's on the inside. Crooked trees, carpet fibres for flocking, loose nails ... really, it isnt worth it for the price you will pay later on trying to fix the horse's back. The horse might go "well" in it now, but compare it to how the horse would move in a decent cheaper saddle (e.g. thorowgood, even a wintec).

I have Walsall made saddles and they are old but well kept and my saddler says they are still worth a hundred pounds.
Good English leather kept in the dry and carefully handled and re stuffed with wool. So don't knock it without seeing it.
