So the other day i rode my pony with no saddle and only a neck rope for control (pretty much tackless) but he had a rope head collar on, notjing attached to it, but just incase i had to dismount quickly in case of emergency it would be easier to control him on the ground, anyway nothing was attached to the head collar and i wasnt using it but someone told me that it is bitless and is getting a little worked up so i thought id ask around for you opinions xx much appreciated xx

What a bizarre thing to get worked up about - it is what it is, a horse working in a neck rope with a headcollar on. It's hardly "bitless" in the implied sense, but certainly is in a literal sense. It's not tackless in any real sense either.

Seeing as the OP's pic has been washed away, here's an old tackless photo of Super-Fergus...

I’m so impressed! Any of my horses would have just put their head down to nibble on the nearest available greenery. Never mind carry me willingly over jumps like that... This is why I need leather straps and ropes and wotnot. Slightly envious.

Mine would take the oppertunity to bugger off back to their friends ???

He's a very good boy - even if he's not the world's most natural jumper ;)

Good for you, I'm past such capers.

I would tell them to wind their neck in, what is it with people inflicting their unsolicited advice / opinions?!
