have you wormed your sisters one and your older one?

the puppys should be wormed again in 2 wks then 2wks after that then once a month till 6 months, then three-six monthly as long as you keep on top of de-fleaing, if the eat dead animals then worm every month

Wow - a seriously abnormal poo even without the worms. Looks more like mucus or vomit to be honest. I would be back at the vets with the photo I think.

yeah i wormed the other pup too and my older dog was wormed about 2 weeks ago as well as my 2 cats, but my older cat started to droll then i got a wet cloth and wiped the surface of where i put the worming liquid do you think that would have still worked or does he need wormed again ??

That is probably the worst food on the market.

Just about any other food is better. What did the puppy farmer feed her?

Poor pup! I would actually be back at the vets with that photo, that is a very abnormal poo and she will need to be wormed again soon, especially if she had such a high worm burden.

Also get her off the Bakers!! Worst dog food you can feed them!

Echo the others really - Bakers won't be helping her at all - sure someone can post a link to the dry food index to show you what might be better for her if want/need to stick with dry?

yeah i am taking her to the vets on monday if it hasnt cleared.why is bakers not good ? i feed my 4 yo dog bakers biscuits and have done for years,is it just pups they are not good for,or older dogs too ? what is the best puppy food (biscuits) and best food (biscuits) for my 4 yo dog ?

Feeding Bakers is the equivalent of feeding your dog Mc Donalds every day. It is full of addiitives and colourings, including known carcinogens, to make it more palatable to the dog. I would look at something like Arden Grange/Burns, both available in most pet shops. Avoid Iams/Eukanuba/Pedigree etc, remember just because they have a big marketing budget, it doesnt mean they are good for your dog.

I would also take your pup to the vet tomorrow, regardless of how she seems. She has obviously never been wormed by the breeder and the vet will advise on when to worm again and ask for a proper health check ( they should have been more concerned about that bloated, wormy tummy).

Same as above! Bakers is awful dog food. We fed our collie on it for years...not realising the bad it was doing. He was hyperactive, had very itchy skin (he would bite himself raw sometimes) and would regularly have an upset tummy and diarrohea. Bakers is so full of additives and colourings that is like feeding your child Mcdonalds every day. Many people believe that just because it is one of the more expensive ones they sell in a supermarket and the bag looks flashy etc...that it is a good dog food. I don't think I have seen anything from Tesco/Asda/Morrisons that I would now feed my dog. You will usually see a better range of food in your local pet/country shop.

I took my boy off it onto arden grange and he is a much happier dog! He is much more chilled, his skin cleared up and he rarely has an upset tummy anymore. Yes arden grange isn't the BEST dog food he could have but he is very fussy and he likes it so I'm sticking to it!
Have a look at the dry dog food index http://www.petforums.co.uk/dog-health-nutrition/255727-updated-dry-dog-food-index.html

Also I would get your pup back to the vets regardless. She will definitely need another dose of wormer, and I would want the vet to give her a good check over if she really has had that many worms! They may also give you something to clear up her diarrohea.

Good luck!

yesterday morning she had one or two worms in her poo but they were only half a centimetre long and since then there has been no worms but her poo is still just like water, could that just be because of the change in food, treatment ,vaccinations ?? i will be worming her 2 weeks from the last time she had it.the size of the pups bellies has actually went down quite a bit so was obviously that big because of worms.just wanted to add this-my puppy knows how to sit already-sooooo cute :D

just wondering - is go ~cat biscuits good for cats.i did change to purina one cat biscuits for a while, then brekkies which they loved but because of how cheap they are i thought they cant have all of the things in it they actually need so changed back to co~cat-is it a good kind ?

Poor wee pup. Please take her to a vet and get her sorted out. It could be that she's a tad snappy because a) (as others have said) she's been poorly socialized; and b) she's feeling unwell b/c of the worm burden.

Vet visit and professional help/training are in order and I bet you'll have a lovely companion. She is very pretty.

you need to take her to the vet asap. For her poo to still be like water (not just a bit soft) for so long is very worrying nd could be serious. Do you know if the breeder ever wormed her before you got her? She could have worm damage.

the breeder said she had been wormed but her belly was huge when i brought her home so im guessing it wasnt.the biting doesnt seem to be out of badness, her tail is waggling, but when you say no to her now she seems to stay away-for a while.CaveCanem-i didnt see what you replied because it had already been deleted when i check my replies but i bought a pup who clearly hadnt been wormed and now i am doing whatever needs to be done.she was at the vets today, her belly has went down soo much, she has put on weight-from 2kg-2.5kg and i was given some paste which she has to have for 3 days and that will make her poos more solid.and i have just to worm her just over a week now again.

poor pup - she is gorgeous but my goodness she hasnt come to you in the best condition. Dare I ask is she registered and where she came from? Im hearing puppy farm alarm bells. Were the parents health tested?

Please stay away from all the dried food crap like bakers and good God dont feed her Go Cat! That pup needs the best nutrition now to make up for the very poor start she has had. I recommend looking at a high end dry food like Orijen, fish4dogs or Applaws.. if you want a cheaper one, my BC's all did ok on Arden Grange for years before I switched to raw feeding. Raw feeding is imho the very best you could do for her, have a look at the Natural Instinct website - they do complete feeds in a handy tub.

eta all of my dogs have come from working lines, born and bred outdoors on farms and I have never ever had one pup who has growled at feeding time. I wouldnt allow it, sort it now. It may be because the other pup is about so I would ensure you feed them in separate rooms and just leave her in peace to eat.

I hear those bells too NeversayNever.:( You're a collie person, is 2.5 kg a normal weight for an 8 week old pup, seems very small to me but I am used to hulking great GSDs.
OP glad the pup is improving. How is the other pup, has he passed lots of worms too?

2.5kg is light but it isnt uncommon. The thing with BC's is that there is such variety in the breed of shapes and sizes. If she is 2.5kg now and going to be a petite build of bitch reaching adult weight of about 13-14kg then she would be the same as a couple of my smaller types. If she is 2.5kg now and going to be one of the big stonking donkey types I keep seeing that reach 24kg+ at maturity then Id say there was cause for great concern:o The only way to know is to know her parents/line. My recent pup was about this weight at 8 weeks, she was a picture of health, at 9 months she is now 11kg...

Thanks, hopefully not a concern then.As you say BCs can be so different in type. I just thought yikes, as some of Evies litter were 600 kg at birth!

Really? That's humungous - bigger than a foal! Heck - bigger than a lot of horses. What on earth are you breeding? :)
