Is this too long a jacket to ride in?

I have a longer version of it which I absolutely LOVE for it's combo of being light, waterproof and toasty warm, so I was hoping to get this for riding. Looking at it, though, I feel like it's juuuust a little too long (the length on me is pretty much the same as on the model), but I thought I'd ask here in case I'm (hopefully!) wrong.

I have an Aldi parker jacket that I ride in that doesn't have a vent but does have a double zip. It's a softer material than that though so it drapes/squashes easily. I think that one would still crinkle and catch on the saddle even with a double zip. The Aldi one was cheap enough to take a risk on!

I'm not sure if it's just me but I'm also not so keen on hooded coats for riding.

I wouldn't want to ride in that coat, the hood would really annoy me, flapping up and down when I was riding. I have always had truly long waterproof coats for riding in but they have been designed specifically for riding with vents and leg straps. The length wouldn't put me off that coat but the style would.

Agree about hooded coats. They're a nuisance, the ones that fit over a helmet reduce visibility when looking behind. I also had an unfortunate moment in the woods when a branch caught in my hood and flicked back into the face of the rider behind.

Thanks all! It's become a bit of a moot point as I realised I had something buried in the back of the wardrobe which fits over a good fleece and does the job perfectly. I love shopping at home! ;)
