do people driving horseboxes even in 3.5 tonners have to have a new part to their licence in april to carry horses???

i havent heard anything but YO says we do and hes going to get them to come to the yard and train a group of us... asked DVLA they said must be DEFRA

is it true?

Not strictly true, no. If you are driving your own horse in your own lorry and it is just your hobby (ie not a business) then the training and certification are not required - will try and find you a link in a mo.

Well, if any of you go as helpers to him at any time, you'd need it, so if you get the chance of free training, it's worth having!
and may be informative, even for your own box and horses
