i was just thinking i know someone who had a horse (16hh thoroughbred X) and she told me that he had a tendon injury and was on bute but then on the sunday she put an eleven year old on him and took him showjumping i thort she was lieing but im not sure can u just tell me personally i wouldnt ride a horse with a tendon injury or any leg injury tbh but im not an expert

Yes it's wrong and Illegal to jump with horse on drugs and the tendon injury will only get worse until the horse breaks down completey which is only then worth meat money.

An 11yr old on a 16h Thoroughbred with a tendon injury showjumping? How irresponsible and it doesnt take an expert to work out that the two dont really mix, especially with an injury. Is this story for real or what?

i thort so i knew she was lieing and i went to see the horse in his field and he looked fine he was running around and doing what he normally did thanks i can now prove that she was lieing now just to prove she was lieing about said horse died but we all think she sold him

nope this sick story is true i havent spoke to her since i hate her for the way he treated that horse she never went to see him weather she had a baby or not

I was wondering..... especially after another recent thread....

Its morally wrong.
I'm not a 'jumper' myself but I'm sure the BSJA don't allow it.
Was it a BSJA show jumping class or local show or just in the school jumping? Not that it matters much TBH as any of those situations would be wrong to jump a buted horse.
Did the childs parents know? Its dangerous jumping a doped horse so their child could have been put in danger.

It does make you a bit like that doesn't it??!!!

Would be amazed if I've actually managed to spot one for once lol!!!!!!

Actually no, it isn't illegal to jump a horse on drugs, the BSJA allow horses to be competed on bute

ATM though iirc it might be changing it is perfectly fine to BSJA a horse on bute.

and you would think.... if that lame.... ie done a tendon lame it would be pretty noticeable to stewards, judges etc etc........

so I am sure it was fine.

i know a some people think this is just a story but unfortuantly it is true this horse did not deserve an owner like her tbh it was a local show the jumps were 65 and 75cm corses i think

Its ok S4L....recent events on here have made people a little wary thats all. Its no reflection on you and you dont need to justify yourself.

she told me on the friday and took him on the sunday he surly couldnt have recoverd by then

LOL no I think thats a safe assumption!

I think shes definately been telling porkies, bute wouldn't mask a tendon injury that fresh anyway so the bute is irrelevant.

the comp was held at a riding school they do one every 2 weeks they dont have stewards just someone timing and a lot of horses

[/ QUOTE ]

I think someone timing/judging faults would still spot a horse that had recently done a tendon........!

and bute doesnt mask pain so is irrelevant.

he was her horse and she said i could ride him in the competition but then she said that he had tendon injury and we couldnt go then on the monday she put a post up on facebook congratulating the 11year old for doing well on her horse
